Kadayif or Tel kadayif is a food obtained as a result of the dough obtained by mixing flour and water into thin wires. It is mostly consumed as a dessert in the Balkans, Turkey and Middle East countries. Wire kadayif is usually purchased in a soft and half-cooked consistency. It is fried in the oven after substances such as peanuts or walnuts are placed between its layers. It is served by pouring a sugary syrup on it. Another dessert made from kadayif is künefe. Common in Turkey's Southeast Anatolian Region and Arab countries, künefe is made using unsalted cheese.
